Mentioned in the bible as a gift to the baby Jesus, Frankincense oil, has been used for thousand of years. Also a huge commodity of trade on the ancient famous Silk Road this oil with long history can have huge health benefits here and now according to Robert Gadimian, owner of Rophe Pharma. Gadimian cites evidence from studies by Kamla K Al Salmani of the University of Leicester where it was found that an ingredient in Frankincense oil, boswellic acids, are cytotoxic to ovarian cancer cells at pharmacologically achievable concentrations and may form the basis of a novel anticancer treatment for ovarian cancer, perhaps alongside conventional chemotherapy.
A TREE PRODUCING FRANKINCENSE OIL IN OMAN IS OVER 850 YEARS OLD
Frankincense is an aromatic resin obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia and has been hypothesized to exhibit a number of health supporting properties, including the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal and anticancer activities. Frankincense oil is prepared by the steam distillation of frankincense gum resin and is frequently used in aromatherapy practices.
This ancient oil, harvested from trees in the Middle East is also showing exciting properties to researchers interested in battling bladder, breast and skin cancer. Just the fact that frankincense oil has shown efficacy in so many different types of cancer is a strong indication that it should be a potent cancer killer.
Based on the available research, Gadimian says frankincense oil attacks the cancer cell in two different fronts: It kills cancer cells on a molecular level and It strengthens the immune system which in turn kills the cancer cells.
IMMUNE SYSTEM BOOSTER
The immune system is perhaps the most important tool when fighting cancer. Some cells of the immune system can recognize cancer cells as abnormal and kill them. This has spurred the recent trend of considering immunotherapy as cancer treatment.
It is well known that people with weak immune systems run the risk of developing cancer, as a weak immune system is unable to fight abnormal cells (i.e., cancer cells) it detects in the body. Studies have indicated that frankincense oil can strengthen the immune system. Therefore, strengthening the immune system is an obvious cancer fighting benefit of frankincense oil.
COMBINE FRANKINCENCSE WTH TURMMERIC SPICE
Most studies referenced above are have used human cancer cells and animal models which need to be verified in human studies. However, there are a lot of testimonies on-line by the people who have used frankincense oil to treat their cancer (even late stage cancer) successfully. Thus, Gadimian advises cancer patients who are not responding to conventional cancer treatment to consider adding frankincense oil (in combination with turmeric spice) to their treatment plan.
There is both literature and data indicating that frankincense oil might also have the following additional benefits:
- Helps Reduce Stress Reactions and Negative Emotions
- Kills Harmful Germs and Bacteria
- Heals Skin and Prevents Signs of Aging
- Balances Hormone Levels
- Eases Digestion
- Acts as a Sleep Aid
- Helps Decrease Inflammation and Pain
Many effective cancer treatments never make it to market as a drug due to obstacles in patent acquisition. If pharmaceutical companies are unable to patent a natural compound, they don’t have the rights to develop the drug – a process already hindered by the significant investment of funds it requires. Gadimian points to new findings that offer outside solutions for cancer patients, reminding patients they can always explore alternate treatments instead of the standard chemotherapy and radiation.
